  • Cody and I hit 9 months on Monday! :D
  • It's almost Christmas, which means my bestie comes home!
  • My last semester at TCC is this spring, then HELLO two degrees.

Short but sweet, and to the point.

Misdemeanors and Sourdough Bread

So naturally since Cody and I make such an amazing couple, we sometimes receive amazing luck as a result.

We BOTH landed jobs within a couple weeks of each other. How awesome is that?!

He got hired on at Schlotzsky's and he's a baker there now and loves it. Although he works ALL DAY when he works. He works longer than me and I pretty much work 8:30-6!

I got hired on a couple weeks later as an attorney's assistant/ticket clerk at a law office downtown.
I love my job!
I work for Matt Davidson who works at Cofer Law. He handles all class C tickets so my job is to get the information on the tickets and follow through with courts and what not. I also get task lists from him on other things I need to do that day.

It's a lot of busy and a lot of paperwork but I love it.
And I get weekends off, so sleeping in has never felt like such a privilege.

Other than that, I have my dispatch test coming up on Wednesday! I'm also meeting with the undergrad adviser at UTA to talk about going there after TCC.

That's all for now!

Don't forget to help me reach my $100 goal for the walk for farm animals!

Anything is appreciated!

Stay magical :]

50 Things to Blog About

So I recently came across a blog post from fatmumslim titled "50 Things to Blog About".

Figured this would be a great chance and more of an excuse to blog more often.
So I'll pick one at random whenever I feel the inspiration and babble about it for the world to read.

Let's kick it off with subject number 33.

[[33. Bad habits. Share yours and why you won’t give it up. Ever.]]

Bad habits. Let's get completely honest here. I'm probably the most OCD person on the planet. Well maybe not on the planet, but I'm pretty high up there.

Bad habit 1 - I am completely obsessed with my nails being short. They can't even grow a little bit without me grabbing the nail clippers. I used to strictly bite them, but now it's mostly just clipping them. Short nails are clean nails. Just saying. I can't give this one up because I would lose my mind entirely.

Bad habit 2 - I floss EVERYWHERE. I use those little portable floss sticks they make so I literally will floss any time my teeth are bothering me. Now when I was a kid, flossing was the last thing on my mind. But as I've gotten older it's become an obsession, and I'm not embarrassed to floss my heart out no matter where I might be. Note to this though...I don't flick the plaque at people or on things, that's just gross. I always use a tissue to get rid of the excess. I won't give it up because I love having clean teeth!

Bad habit 3 - I am a total pack rat. Not as bad as I used to be, but pretty bad. Luckily I've gone through most of my belongings and gotten rid of what I don't need here recently. Although being a pack rat has it's positive side. I've found so many things from old friends and previous schools that most people have thrown away years ago. It feels great to see the things my friends and I shared throughout our younger years. I won't give it up because obviously it can be a good thing.

Bad habit 4 - A common one, I'm sure. I LOVE my Red Bulls and my mocha frappucinos from Starbucks. So bad for me but two things I won't ever give up because they are too good, and they are my favorite for when I'm craving something full of calories and sugar.

Bad habit 5 - I tend to open a can of soda and only drink half of it. Sometimes because I get busy and forget about it until it gets warm and flat, other times I just lose interest in drinking it. Maybe I should start buying the little cans. Hmmmm. I won't give up drinking soda because it's the greatest.

Bad habit 6 - Not sure if this is a bad habit but it's craving my brain gets. I love to rub the bottoms of flared jeans. I put the fabric in between my fingers and the coolness feels so good against my skin. I literally rub them until they get faded and weak and then I rip them to pieces. I won't give it up because I think it's a release from the stress I feel.

Bad habit 7 - I unlock and check my iPhone too much, even when I don't have a message or email to check. Usually after I open it I remember I have no friends. Hah. I won't give it up because yes, I am phone obsessed.

Bad habit 8 - Last and final habit I can think of. I am totally in love with school supplies/office supplies, whatever you want to call them. I have probably well over 500 pens/pencils/highlighters/Sharpies/markers etc. I have tons of spiral notebooks and loose leaf paper. Post-its, index cards, you name it, I've got it. Now before you say anything, I recently threw away a bunch of writing utensils, and I plan on giving a lot away to people who have a normal amount of pens or don't have enough. I won't give it up because I LOVE PENS. If you're like me then you have to be in a certain mood to write with a certain type of pen. Inky, ballpoint, fine point, it all depends on my mood.

So that's way more bad habits than I thought I had, and there are probably more. But for now I'll stick with the 8 that came to mind first. What are your bad habits? Comment on this post and let me know I'm not alone, LOL.

Stay magical.

Walk for Farm Animals 2013

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to let you know I'm participating in the Walk for Farm Animals this year on November 2 and I would love your support. I set my personal goal at $100 and I've already donated $55 of it, so all I need is $45 left to reach my goal!

This cause is very important to me, so any amount would be much appreciated. Our city goal is $5,000. Thank you for all your support!

The Purge, Road Trips, and Switching Job Titles

First off, the Purge was AWESOME!
That whole concept just totally blew my mind.
If you haven't seen it, SEE IT.

Second of all, road trip is a go.
July 7th, we are Vegas bound.
SO excited, need some serious time away from Texas and it's ego.
Really excited as well for the fact that I found some healthy snacks that taste good to get before the trip.
But most of all, can't wait to see my dad and the rest of my amazing family.

Thirdly, I went back to just being reception at the clinic.
Couldn't handle working in the back anymore.
The fibro in my family is definitely showing when I have to do things like hold dogs down.
So now I'm just a simple receptionist who calls and bugs you to make an appointment.
I actually had a good first day back today too, despite the meeting.

Fourthly, is fourthly a word?
After this summer class I guess I'll be taking a break from school.
I'm not eligible to get anymore loans from TCC, and we don't have the money to pay for classes right now.
It makes me nervous but I suppose it'll be nice...maybe.
All I know how to do is be a student, and sometimes I don't know what to do with myself when I'm not in school.

Fifthly, I think I'm making up words maybe....
Heather and I went and looked at some apartments last week.
Have no idea when we'll even be able to set a time frame for moving out.
We don't make nearly enough to cover costs for everything other than rent.

Aaaaaaaaand my foot's asleep.

Stay magical! <3

Ready for Summer

YAY!
My mommy and I went to Kohl's yesterday and I got some new shorts and some cute tops.

Sadly, I could not find any pants or khakis that I needed so I'll just have to wait and go back another time.

Here's what I decided to wear today!

I feel super girly and I kind of love it.
I missed out on being an intense girly girl when I was younger.

Speaking of when I was younger, I found this little gem on Cameron's Facebook page!

Freshmen year Tacky Day!
The sad thing is...my mom says I still look the same back then as I do now.

I will forever look 15 and no one who checks my license when I order a drink will ever believe that I'm of age. Kind of annoying but I'll deal with it. Since everyone tells me I'll appreciate that in a few years haha.

I got a second job!
I'm a part time instructor at the bar school I graduated from! So excited.
I've always wanted to do this and I finally get to.

So if you want to take classes at Premium Institute of Bartending, make sure you sign up for night classes because I'll be teaching it! :D

Still planning on the Vegas trip this summer.
July sometime probably.
Really trying to save up more money for it, I can't wait to go.
I MISS MY FAMILY!

I'm also taking English 2 online while we're on the trip. Sadness.
Anyway...

That's all for now!
Stay magical <3

Shit. Shit, shit, SHIT!!!

Connor's bike was stolen.
I need new tires.
Still don't have enough money for the road trip in July.
Still need to buy books for summer classes.

SHIT.

Hello April, Hello Spring

AAAAHHHH how is it already April?!
Time flies when you're kickin ass I suppose.
Finished my Organized Crime paper today!
And that concludes all the paper writing I will do this semester. Only 3 more tests to worry about.

And before I go any deeper into this blog, I'll share the rest of my March Photo-A-Day pictures.

Day 14 - Tasty
This Walking Dead comic is quite the tasty reading.

Day 15 - Explore
Butterfly with torn wings exploring the dandelion.

Day 16 - 9 o'clock
Working on a Saturday morning. Clinic opens at 9am. Heather is the first one I see!

Day 17 - Green
I colored Cody's shamrock tattoo green.

Day 18 - Shoes
My favorite beat up pair of Converse. <3

Day 19 - A Sign
Saw this exit sign while sitting outside my classroom waiting for the teacher to get there. I wanted to run for that exit.

Day 20 - Clean
Lisa, Heather and I spent 30 mins cleaning up all the cigarette butts and trash that the rude people upstairs leave all over our yard at work.

Day 21 - Working
Of course I happened to be off of work on this day, LOL.
So I snapped a picture of our mutts, who were working hard on annoying me.

Day 22 - About Me
Female, 21, photographer, in love, in love with music, casual, loves to sleep, loves fruit, loves Walking Dead, has 4 tattoos and 4 piercings.

Day 23 - What I Do For Fun
Hang out with my best friend in the whole wide world :]

Day 24 - Up
Up in the sky, with a peace sign.

Day 25 - In My Drawer
I have too much junk.

Day 26 - Something I Did
Went to class that day.

Day 27 - Pair
A pair of necklaces my Aunt got for me. I love them!

Day 28 - In The Mirror
My many perfumes.

Day 29 - Goodnight
Jackson being a lazy.

Day 30 - Relax
Nothing better than my cozy bed.

Day 31 - Stuff
Some delicious green stuff I made. YUM!

And that's all for March! It was a blast coming up with different ideas everyday.
It continues on this month, and I'm going to try and be even more creative!

I got approved to register for the internship capstone course this summer.
Now all I need to do is find where I'm going to intern.
Probably going to look into Fort Worth Crime Scene Unit to see if they accept interns.
It would be badass if they just hired me after I was graduated.

WALKING DEAD is gone until the fall.
Sadness.
CANNOT wait for Season 4.
I hope the governor finally gets what's coming to him.

Stay magical, I love you!
Bye!

Photo-A-Day Fun

Thought I would post all my photo-a-day's so far this month.
I'm really enjoying the challenge actually.
Today got a little lazy so I did the only obvious thing for today's subject.
But the challenge is fun, gives me something to look forward to doing each day.
Using your own creativity is the best part.
Here's March 1 through March 13.

Day 1 - L is for...
"Little Things," like the way Harry makes me smile.

Day 2 - I Made This
An oil pastel from art class in 7th grade.

Day 3 - Key
All my really cool keys I've collected so far. Plan on it being a huge collection!

Day 4 - Lucky
My lucky star that I painted a long time ago, I carry it everywhere with me.
Lauren Wells is my lucky star so I carry this since she isn't actually here with me!

Day 5 - Under
Under a dead tree coming back to life. Took this at work!
It's one of my current favorites.

Day 6 - Chair
Wanted to do something other than your basic chair,
So I did Lisa's grooming chair at work.

Day 7 - Fear
I wanted to do something other than spiders for this one.
Since I knew the majority would be spiders.
And I wasn't going to go looking for an actual spider to take a photo of.
So I put this collage together of my parents and stepparents.
My fear is losing them.

Day 8 - Favorite
Anyone could see this one coming.
GREEN DAY!!

Day 9 - Faceless Self-Portrait
Thought I was SO clever when I came up with this one.
My original idea was to do a collage of my hands and feet.
But I thought my ear with headphones in it was perfect for me.

Day 10 - I Want...
I wanted a really nice manicure that day.
Actually I kind of need one.

Day 11 - Important
Cody's niece Lilly is in town this week for spring break.
She's important and loved by so many.
And SO adorable!

Day 12 - In the Distance
Yeah this one could have been better.
I was at work and figured the time I took the picture was a distance from when I got off.
I was scheduled off at 1:30.

Day 13 - Sound
Yeah this one was my lazy one. I couldn't come up with anything good.
And I was tired. So I picked a song I'm really into at the moment.

So yeah, that's my daily enjoyment recently.
Cody and I have had a rough few days so we went out for lunch today.
Olive Garden.
YUM.

Then we did a little unofficial shopping.
I saw a Walking Dead poster I could NOT leave without buying.
There's no room in my room for it, so it's in his room.
I figure at least one of us had to have it.

I also bought the first book with the first part of the comic series of Walking Dead.

Totally psyched to read it.

I think tomorrow we're going to take Lilly out and have a fun day with her since I'm off.
She's the greatest little girl ever.

Anyway, I needs to be studying.
Peace!

McRibs & Cheeseburgers

So the autopsy was today.
Pretty knarly but AWESOME to see.
I've seen one too many Saw movies for that to creep me out.

It's pretty much the same thing as what you see in movies, just happening right in front of you.
When you look at the body, it doesn't seem real at all.
And it helps everyone feel better when you make jokes.

So I made some McDonald's references, and forever ruined McDonald's for some people.
When they cut her open she looked like the inside of a McDonald's cheeseburger.
Not my fault.
And when they cut her ribs open I happened to mention McRibs.
McDonald's is poison anyway, they'll get over it.

It was pretty gruesome, but overall worth the experience.
No one threw up either!
Shocking.

Let's wrap this post up with some fun facts.

2 Things You Probably Didn't Know About Me:
  • Most nights my dreams consist of different zombie apocalypse scenarios. My alarm always wakes me when it's getting good.
  • I still LOVE to read old Dr. Seuss books.
Goodbye!

Tiny Tuesdays

For Tuesday, March 5th, 2013:

  • Outside my window....the sun just went down, and it's CHILLY.
  • I am thinking....that I need to study HARDCORE every night this week.
  • I am thankful for....the people in my life that love and support me.
  • From the Kitchen....there is nothing that sounds appealing.
  • I am wearing....my favorite PJ pants and a Dr. Pepper shirt.
  • I am creating....tomorrow's Photo-A-Day in my mind.
  • I am going....to the medical examiner's office tomorrow to see a real autopsy.
  • I am reading....my newest Cosmopolitan magazine.
  • I am hoping....that tomorrow goes well at work, seeing as how 4 cats are coming in and I'm on my own.
  • I am hearing....the silly dogs barking and playing.
  • Around the house....there is too much stuff we DON'T need.
  • One of my favorite things....lately, it's Instagram. I love the way the filters and editing gives my photography that extra touch.
  • A few plans for the rest of the week....finish my study guide for Ethics class, study for my next Organized Crime exam, play some intense PlayStation  and get through the rest of the week on my own as a full on tech at work!

The Photo-A-Day challenge is TOO fun. I can't wait for each day to start so I can do the next challenge on the list. You guys should definitely try it. I'm already eager to see what's on the list for next month!

Stay magical <3

New Sheets & the Instagram

Shocker, yes you guessed it.
Got new sheets.
They're red!

Short post today.
Just wanted to say how excited I am for March Photo A Day Challenge.
The March 2013 list is posted.

CANNOT wait to get started. It's going to be a blast.

Peace!

Valentine's and Other Tragedies

So things have been crazy, but not TOO crazy.
We're starting to pick up at work, more than we were anyway.
And school is still boring.

Got one current event out of the way, and one test.
Just 2 more current events, and a paper.
Then to tackle each test as the semester rolls by.

Sarah is in town, unfortunately only until tomorrow morning.
She flew down from Denver on Wednesday night and she's driving back with her new car tomorrow morning. I hope she has a safe drive back!

Still planning on a road trip to see the family in the summer time.
Would like to go earlier but probably need to keep it at the same general time so it co-insides with my oil change.

Valentine's Day finally passed. Wasn't as bad of a day as I thought it was going to be. Was dreading it but it turned out ok. Just know that it's the biggest waste of money of the year. People were slaughtered in the Valentine's Day massacre. Just sayin. Hallmark holidays shouldn't count.

Anyways, not much else going on right now.
Just living the life I was born to live, giving it all I got to give.
I want a new tattoo!

Happy New Year 2013

So it happens to be 2013.
In your face, doomsday preppers.

So a lot has changed since we celebrated a new year.
Time has gone by slower, yet still pretty fast.
It's almost the end of January? Wow.

We finally got two new receptionists hired at work and they're awesome.
Antrice and Julie. Both fun to work with.
And I'm officially back in my original position that I was hired for.
Excited, but still getting used to it.
Feels weird not sitting behind the desk all day!

Starting to realize that work is a whole lot crazier and a whole different ball game in the back.
Behind the scenes, interesting stuff.

And speaking of work, we finally took our staff picture!

Ah yes, my crazy co-workers. I love them all.

Spring semester started this past week. Woo.
Only have two classes, fortunately.
Organized Crime and Ethics in Criminal Justice.

So far so good, especially since I already have all the notes for Organized Crime thanks to a friend of mine who took it last semester.

Only things to tackle this semester:
  • Paper for Organized Crime
  • 3 current event papers for Ethics
  • 3 tests in Ethics

Not worried about Organized Crime tests at all.
Favorite teacher, uses crossword puzzles as study guides.

Then after the semester, it's hello internship over the summer and then hello graduation.

Hoping to road trip to see my family over the summer too.
I miss them dearly.

And speaking of family, Scott (stepdad) just lost his father this month.
Keep him and his family in your thoughts.
His mother is staying with us for a while.
Rest in Peace Grandpa Neitch.

Anyway, that's all for now.
Happy studies everyone.
